French shipyard JFA Yachts, based in Concarneau since 1993, constructs and refits monohull as well as multihull sailing and motor yachts from 20 to 60 meters. Dedicated to multihulls, the International Multihull Boat Show 2012, held in Lorient, France, from April 18 to 22, is another opportunity to promote this rapidly growing market for sizes greater than 25m.
Today, JFA has got indeed appropriate infrastructures (pontoon, lifting devices and halls), highly versatile skills and, most of all, a recognized expertise in those sizes of yachts.
The first catamaran yacht built by JFA measures 85′ and was delivered in 2004. In 4 years, this boat has done a very complete circumnavigation from Concarneau to the Mediterranean, via Panama and New Zealand, with lots of stopovers in the Caribbean or the Pacific Islands.
In the coming weeks, JFA will launch the 110′ catamaran yacht VPLP. Built out of carbon, this exceptional catamaran is the largest cruising catamaran in composite built in the world.
JFA is finishing off the refit / commissioning of the 95´ aluminium catamaran yacht Mashua Bluu.
Lastly, with the “Long Island” range, JFA is positioned on the semi-custom catamaran market. The construction of the 85′ Long Island yacht, first copy of the range, has just begun. By her size and her freeboard, this catamaran is designed to sail far and in the greatest comfort. The hulls and the bottom of the nacelle will be made of aluminum while the deck and superstructures will be made of composite.
Thus, JFA’s current event bears a highly “multihull” mark.
The yard intends to establish itself as a leader of the multihull Superyacht market.
