ICON superyacht project Florida has been christened BATON ROUGE. The 62.50 metre (205.05 ft) displacement motor yacht BATON ROUGE, (ex motor yacht FLORIDA) is the second of three superyachts in the ICON 62m range launched by Icon Yachts. Built as Project Florida, motor yacht BATON ROUGE has a graceful steel hull with an 11.40 metre beam and a draft of 3.50 metres. She was launched on the 27th May 2010.

The Naval Architects for motoryacht BATON ROUGE are Jouke Van Der Baan. Superyacht BATON ROUGE’s exterior was designed by Tim Heywood Design Ltd and the interior by Redman Whiteley Dixon Ltd.
ICON Yachts is a relatively new name amongst luxury yacht builders. The company is based in Holland and offers customised superyachts built on a pre-determined, technically optimised and operational platform giving almost endless customisable possibilities. The first yacht built by the Dutch shipyard was luxury yacht Icon 62. The yacht has a large fold-out transom beach terrace with shower, which leads onto an open day-room at the stern. This 62-meters super yacht features design by Redman Whiteley Dixon (RWD). Icon 62 served as a proven platform for Icon yachts to develop larger yachts.
Each of the Icon yachts is built using a same optimised platform. This way the hull shape below the waterline, propulsion system, machinery, and crew spaces would all share common design. This has been thoroughly tested and refined.
However the interior design, the shapes of the deckhouse and the hull above the waterline is custom designed. So each Owner can give his own input and create his/hers own look without having to reengineer components that are essential to the yacht.
The procedure results in shorter construction times, more efficiency and more cost-effective operation.
