A well-known annual event for superyacht owners as well as their personal guests running these days (June 21-24), The Rendezvous in Monaco 2012, hosts the world’s most spectacular superyachts lined up along the Quai des États-Unis.
Yachts including the Feadship-built 63m charter yacht Lady Britt, the 39m charter yacht Go, the 40m charter yacht Seaflower, the 50m Trinity superyacht Norwegian Queen, the 72m Lurssen charter yacht Titania (ex Apoise) and the 45m Benetti charter yacht Told U So are in the Mediterranean for the twenty-second edition of this exclusive event, which has become an unmissable fixture on the social calendars of yacht owners around the world.
An exciting programme of events began yesterday afternoon with a private luncheon for the superyacht owners in attendance at the Yacht Club de Monaco. Tony Harris, CEO of Boat International Media welcomed owners to The Rendezvous and Bernard D’Alessandri presented memberships to the yacht club for the duration of the event, allowing owners to enjoy the fantastic facilities at one of the world’s most prestigious yachting establishments.
In the evening, all Rendezvous guests were welcomed to the Principality with a Welcome Cocktail on the Quai des États-Unis, sponsored by Monaco Tourism and Bellavista. Following welcome speeches, yachts opened house for the Rendezvous Yacht Hop, inviting guests on board for canapés and hospitality.
Celebrity chefs from the Relais & Chateux Group joined in the fun and prepared some of their signature dishes on board participating yachts. The Gypsy Queens created a wonderful party atmosphere along the Quai as guests strolled from one yacht to the next, reconnecting with old acquaintances and making new friends.
Today, guests are preparing for a day of sailing, sunshine and fun a à la plage at Paloma Beach in St Jean Cap Ferrat. The yachts will cruise in company to this beautiful private beach, where there are plenty of activities available to suit all tastes, including water sports and massage.
In the evening, guests look forward to the ShowBoats Design Awards prize giving ceremony at the Monaco Opera House; a highly anticipated occasion for many of the attending owners who could be leaving Monaco with some extra luggage in the shape of a golden Neptune trophy!
