Hodgdon Yachts of East Boothbay, Maine have announced a new division, Hodgdon Design and Engineering Services, which will offer subcontracted design and engineering services.
With a heritage that stretches back to the days of clipper ships, Hodgdon Yachts is a leader in high-tech composite construction while maintaining its reputation for world-class traditional and modern interiors. The company now has 4 divisions, adding design and engineering services to its high-end superyacht interiors, custom sail and motor yacht construction up to 60M and military contracting divisions they plan to bring a unique perspective to engineering services
Hodgdon Yachts have a 192-year history that includes 5 generations of Hodgdon boat builders – possibly the longest history of a family of boat builders in the USA The shipyard has launched over 400 vessels including superyacht SCHEHERAZADE and Luxury sailing yacht luxury sailing yacht Antonisa
The new division intends to support existing naval architecture and yacht design practices, refit shipyards and yacht manufacturers, as well as Hodgdon’s own boatbuilding operation. Hodgdon Yachts have a large and experienced engineering staff and will be able to offer services such as structural engineering and design specialists in advance composites, systems engineering and design, precision 3D modeling and optimal construction plans, Shipbuilding fabrication and construction design plus various vessel classifications and standards, including CE, ABYC, ABS, LOYDS and RINA.
