Design Unlimited, the prestigious luxury superyacht interior design studio, is proud to announce that two of their recent projects will be on display at the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show, the 45m luxury yacht KARIA and the WallyCento yacht HAMILTON. These two projects show the versatility of the Design Unlimited studio and its skills to meet dramatically different visual and technical requirements.
On display at berth N19 Quai de l’Hirondelle is the 45m motoryacht Karia, designed by Ron Holland and built by RMK Marine. Outwardly traditional, below decks Design Unlimited has created an interior based on contemporary Asian design using influences from Thailand and Japan. A rich palette of materials includes specialised finishes such as custom lacquering, parchment and shagreen, alongside fine silks and other sumptuous fabrics to create an Eastern theme to complement and contrast with the contemporary uncluttered space. Design Unlimited was also involved in the exterior styling and the layout of the sundeck which features a bespoke Spa Pool and luxurious sun lounging area.
In complete contrast, in berth C09 Quai Chicane can be seen the luxury yacht Hamilton, the first of the new WallyCento class. With naval architecture by Judel/Vrolijk and built by Green Marine, this powerful sloop is an exciting raceboat yet is fully equipped for cruising with an ultra-lightweight interior and exterior styling by the Design Unlimited team.
Following the trademark Wally pattern of clean, stylish simplicity, Hamilton superyacht features pale wood veneers and clean runs of joinery with channelled recess handles and detailing to give a smooth functional feel. This streamlining enhances the sensation of space and light inside the yacht without forsaking the high level of sophistication and comfort required in a luxury cruiser.
Mark Tucker and members of the Design Unlimited team can be found at stand DG15 on Quai Etats-Unis (‘Designers Gallery’). Members of the press are welcome to stop by or make an appointment to find out more about these and other exciting projects that the studio currently has under development.
