Next week in San Francisco will see America’s Cup-winning tactician as well as veteran broadcaster Gary Jobson lead the America’s Cup World Series broadcasts.
Jobson, who won the America’s Cup in 1977, has been a television producer and commentator on sailing broadcasts since 1985. He will team with Todd Harris, who boasts experience across a wide variety of sports, from football and basketball to IndyCar Racing and the Olympic Games.
“Gary Jobson’s experience and knowledge, along with Todd Harris’ commentary is a great combination,” said Stephen Barclay, the CEO of the America’s Cup. “Their voices, as well as the live onboard audio from the sailors, will immerse our viewers in the Cup experience as the teams compete on the challenging San Francisco Bay racecourse.”
The “Super Sunday” final races of the America’s Cup World Series San Francisco will be broadcast live nationwide on NBC on Oct. 7, beginning at 1:30 p.m. (PDT).
Earlier races, from Thursday, Oct. 4, to Saturday, Oct. 6, will be shown live on YouTube and in California on Comcast Sportsnet, NBC’s California NonStop channel, and NBC Bay Area (11.2).
Globally, the Emmy award-winning coverage is available on more than 35 networks, including Mediaset in Italy, Canal+ in France, SkySports in the UK, Supersport in South Africa, Rogers Sportsnet in Canada, OSN across the Middle-East, Fox Sports in Australia, TVE in Spain and TVNZ in New Zealand.
