Oceanskies is delighted to announce that the company’s attendance at the first two premier international boat shows of the year, London Boat Show and Dusseldorf Boat Show, was a great success.
Oceanskies was launched in the Channel Island of Guernsey shortly before the start of the London Boat Show.
Duncan Swanson of Oceanskies commented “the London Boat Show remains an important show in the marine calendar and provides the UK’s yachting industry with a timely opportunity to unveil new models and connect with their clients ahead of the forthcoming boating season.”
This year marked the 59th London Boat Show and was attended by approximately 500 exhibiting companies. The 90,000 visitors who made their way to the show held at the Excel exhibition centre in London’s docklands were joined by a number of celebrities including Chris Evans, Suzi Perry, Nick Knowles and John Terry.
From London it was onwards for Oceanskies to Germany to attend the 44th Dusseldorf Boat Show or ‘Boot Dusseldorf’ as it is more commonly known.
“The Dusseldorf Boat show remains the world’s largest indoor boat show” said Duncan. The show’s geographic location ensures that it remains a popular show for the entire Northern European boating community. Many of the larger production brands attend the show with examples of their range whilst many superyacht builders also exhibit.”
In total 1,674 exhibitors from 63 countries exhibit at the show with 1,700 yachts in display.
The London and Dusseldorf boat shows provided an ideal opportunity for Oceanskies to introduce itself to the global yachting market.
Tom said “Although both Duncan and I are well known from our years of working within the superyacht industry it is important to send a message that we are now working as Oceanskies.” “Rather pleasingly our efforts at both shows seem to be paying off with a healthy number of enquiries and prospects being received.”
In addition to promoting its own services Oceanskies also finds itself acting in an ambassadorial role for Guernsey. When meeting new clients and trade contacts there is always an interest taken in where the company is based and Guernsey is well regarded as a yachting destination.
