Expedition yachts have grown in popularity in recent years, buoyed by the desire amongst Owners and charter guests alike to explore farther than ever before, and NANSEN EXPLORER yacht has joined the ranks of vessels available for adventure-filled charter in Antarctica or Greenland.
E/Y NANSEN EXPLORER was originally built as a research vessel and has since been refitted to offer luxurious surroundings along with top quality service. This 72m/236ft vessel is built with an ICE-1A Class hull and has a Captain and crew experienced with sailing in icy regions.
Earthy tones and natural textures are used throughout, and the salon/dining area is just one area where guests can converse, relax and celebrate a special occasion with the warm glow of the fire adding to the ambience. The lower deck has a well-equipped gym for guests to continue their fitness regime while cruising, and there is a well-stocked tender garage filled with water toys for adventures on the water and in the snow. The collection includes kayaks, Stand-up paddleboards and Scuba diving equipment, with a hangar and helipad for guests to get an incredible bird’s-eye view.
When once E/Y NANSEN EXPLORER hosted 60 passengers, she now carries only 12 guests across 7 well-appointed en-suite cabins. Chartering a single cabin is also possible in some cases, instead of the entire vessel – contact CharterWorld for more information.
Upcoming destinations include Antarctica in January 2022 for photography and Greenland from late April 2022 for heli-skiing and more. See more photos of the refined interiors and plan your once-in-a-lifetime journey for the year ahead:
