Alewijnse Marine Systems has been awarded the contract for the supply and installation of the complete electrical outfitting on board a stunning and innovative new 85.5m (280ft) Oceanco motor yacht. The vessel has been styled by Igor Lobanov and is currently in build at Oceanco’s facility at Alblasserdam, the Netherlands.
The contract is for the installation of all the electrical systems throughout the yacht, including the bridge and all associated navigation equipment, comprehensive security including CCTV and individual door access, a complete IT system with both fixed and wireless networking and all lighting plus environmental system controls, as well as full power control and distribution throughout.
Special features include an alarm and monitoring system that can be remote accessed in real-time via VSAT, a secure local IT network for the owner’s deck to prevent external, unauthorized access, and a highly sophisticated PLC/ SCADA automated industrial control system with full redundancy.
The design and specification phase of the contract is already underway and Alewijnse will have around 30 technicians working at Oceanco throughout the build, with over 50 specialists expected to take part in the final commissioning process due to take place early in 2012.
Alewijnse Marine Systems has a long-established relationship with Oceanco, having worked together on a number of globally recognised superyachts including Alfa Nero (82m), Vibrant Curiosity (85.5m) and MS Sunrays (85.5m). As a strategic partner Alewijnse provides Oceanco with a comprehensive systems integration service based on quality, reliability and flexibility from concept to launch and beyond.
Oceanco CEO Marcel Onkenhout commented, “Oceanco and Alewijnse have enjoyed a strong 15-year relationship working with each other, implementing innovative technologies for the yachting industry. Oceanco is looking forward to retaining this collaborative partnership well into the future.”
