Heesen Yachts is thrilled to announce that they successfully launched their all-new 55m Fast Displacement motor yacht AZAMANTA (YN 17255) during a private ceremony at their facility in Oss, the Netherlands, on May 1, 2015. Superyacht AZAMANTA represents the world’s first Fast Displacement steel-hulled yacht over 50 metres. She will undergo sea trials in the North Sea, and subsequently, will be handed over to her owners in July 2015.
The highly innovative Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) of AZAMANTA yacht was developed by Van Oossanen Naval Architects, in partnership with the yard’s in-house naval architects. The striking AZAMANTA is expected to achieve an impressive top speed of 16,5 knots, with a range of 4,500 nm at a cruising speed of 13 knots. She will set a benchmark in terms of efficiency, propelling around 600 tonnes of steel and aluminium at 15 knots with only 600kW of power.
Destined for an experienced yachtsman, luxury yacht AZAMANTA has been superbly penned by Omega Architects. She features vertical windows and numerous glass insertions in the bulwarks to allow more natural light to flood her beautiful interiors by Sinot Design, providing comfortable accommodation to up to 12 guests in 6 cabins. These include a lovely master suite, which can be found on the main deck forward and features a recessed balcony on the starboard side. The guest cabins are all positioned on the lower deck and include a full-beam VIP cabin, as well as two twin and two double cabins. All cabins have ensuite bathrooms, each of them decorated with breath-taking wall mosaics.
Externally, AZAMANTA superyacht provides an amazingly spacious 110 sqm sundeck, hosting a popular Jacuzzi with a rigid cover. Thanks to this, it can be transformed into a stage for live music performances and is complemented by a high-fidelity and powerful sound system. The 70 sqm owner’s private terrace is positioned forward, fitted with three built-in sofas surrounding the dining table for up to six guests. Tenders and toys can be conveniently found in the forward garage and launched through gull-wings doors on each side. This leaves space in the lazarette for a wide beach club and gym with a large swim platform.
