It has been an amazing start to 2015 for Huisfit, the refit, repair and maintenance division of the prestigious Dutch superyacht builder, Royal Huisman. Three outstanding projects are currently underway, including the 47m (156’) charter yacht HYPERION, the 40m (131’) superyacht ANTARES and the 71m (232’) mega yacht SKAT, in addition to other yachts in the pipeline for the upcoming winter season.
Originally launched by Royal Huisman in 1998, superyacht HYPERION returned to Vollenhove, following an amazing cruise in the waters of the breath-taking Scandinavia yacht charter territory last summer. At the moment, she is at the final stage of upgrading the propulsion shaft and propeller, installing new gensets and a new main switchboard, upgrading her navigation and communication systems, including the PLC hardware and alarm & monitoring software; overhauling and painting her hull and superstructure, and installing new teak decking.
Similarly, the 2005 sailing yacht ANTARES has also returned to Vollenhove to undergo a 10-year Lloyds survey for classification. She is currently nearing the completion of a renewal and maintenance programme. The overhaul has comprised rebuilding her gensets, installing new teak decking, servicing her thrusters, surveying the rig, and repainting her hull, superstructure and spars.
Originally launched by Lurssen in 2002, luxury superyacht SKAT has returned to Vollenhove for a second time, following the works performed by Huisfit in 2012. She is undergoing an extensive programme to service her main engines and gensets, update the onboard systems, replace all her teak decking, repaint the hull and superstructure, overhaul her sewage plant, and service the transom doors, passarelle, side-boarding platforms and cranes.
All of these three outstanding projects follow on from the completion of a cosmetic and technical refit at the end of last season on the 90m (295’) mega yacht ATHENA, a beautiful three-masted schooner delivered by Royal Huisman in 2004. Taking advantage of a stopover in the Mediterranean during her busy cruising schedule, the Huisfit team reached Palma to oversee the overhaul that comprised refreshing her interior varnish work, updating the electrical systems, as well as inspecting her rod rigging.
Moreover, Huisfit is proud to announce that the 55m (180’) superyacht ADELE will visit them in Vollenhove next winter. In total, there are ongoing enquiries from 12 yachts, representing an amazing overall length of 738m (2,421ft).
Modern or classic, sail or motor, Huisfit is renowned for their unprecedented experience, competitive prices and reliable delivery dates. The company boasts comprehensive infrastructure, excellent customer service, exceptional crew facilities, as well as a location at the center of the Dutch maritime services cluster.
Huisfit will be present at this year’s Palma Superyacht Show, running from April 30 to May 4. The Huisfit team will be on hand at stand SY 16.
