This September’s Monaco Yacht Show will see the first public premiere of the brand new Amels 55-metre motor yacht STEP ONE by the respected Dutch builder Amels. Developed to bridge the gap between semi-custom and full custom yachts, the first Amels Limited Edition 180 STEP ONE superyacht boasts a sun deck measuring 24.5 metres, as well as a helipad with 2000kg take-off weight.
Amels LE180 luxury yacht STEP ONE’s streamlined exterior was drawn by renowned British designer Tim Heywood and her full custom interior by Laura Sessa from Rome. She passed all tests on the first day of her sea trial in April, to the full satisfaction of Lloyds Register.
With annual growth of 10% over the past four years, Amels is the largest superyacht builder in the Netherlands. Already 2012 has been a busy year, with three new-builds and two refits successfully delivered on time, and with another nine new construction projects underway.
Amels is the exclusive yacht-building member of the Dutch DAMEN Shipyards Group, the largest shipyard in the Netherlands, consisting of more than 39 shipyards and marine-related companies throughout the world. DAMEN, a family owned company, employs over 6,000 people, delivered 150 vessels in 2011 and has an annual turnover of approximately €1.3 billion.
