The first 80m (262’4″) Amels 80 Limited Edition has been moved to the Damen Yachting facility in Vlissingen, the Netherlands, to begin outfitting. She was launched a year after her sale which was announced at last year’s Monaco Yacht Show. She is due for completion in 2025.
Speaking about this recent outfitting milestone, Damen Yachting project manager, Romke van der Linde, said: “This yacht is at the forefront of shipbuilding. We are a 100+ year old shipyard that continues to innovate and the hybrid Amels 80 is a true testament to this. The feedback from the several Amels 60 yachts that already feature our hybrid system has been more than positive.”
Exterior design is from Espen Øino with interiors from the Dutch studio Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design – the first time the two renowned designers first collaboration. Øino had this to say about this beautiful yacht, “her modern strong lines will look as good in 10 years as the day she is delivered”.
Outstanding features include a 6.5m swimming pool on the aft deck with a transparent floor allowing light onto the below beach club. The beach club opens on three sides creating a semi-enclosed waterfront lounge adjacent to the spa, sauna, gym, hammam and massage room. There is also a 200sqm sundeck where a circular jacuzzi takes pride of place and is surrounded by sun pads, a bar and dining setting.
Seven luxury staterooms can accommodate up to fourteen guests with the owners benefitting from there own apartment on deck featuring a suite, two bathrooms, private office and lounge with breakfast seating and a library.
The interior design that takes inspiration from the natural world and Paul Costerus, lead designer at Sinot said: “Materials are treated so that the natural characteristics remain as pure as possible. The style is distinctive and allows the owner to customise and add their personal style.”
The yacht boasts hybrid propulsion and precedes two other Amels 80 currently in build.
