Amels and exterior designers H2 Yacht Design have provided details on a 111-metre luxury yacht concept by the name of POLLUX.
Voluminous interiors are balanced by an exterior design that emphasises outdoor living on the extensive aft decks, and there is a large swimming pool on the main deck aft for guests to enjoy while berthed in city locations and while in transit. When not in use as a helipad, the bow of motor yacht POLLUX can be used for sunbathing or for outdoor exercise.
“Our ambition was a design that drew on the AMELS DNA and heritage, but didn’t simply reproduce existing details,” H2 Yacht Design Director Jonny Horsfield commented. “We have looked forward to the future design direction of the AMELS fleet, whilst maintaining a timeless look that captures the pinnacle of AMELS yacht building.”
The svelte exterior of luxury yacht POLLUX is produced by uninterrupted line that give the decks the appearance of floating bands. A contrasting paint scheme of pale metallic silver against gloss black ensures that she is equally at ease with attending formal events as lively parties in such destinations as the Balearic Islands or the Dalmatian Coast. Once built, the 4,750 Gross Tonnage superyacht will have 7 decks and is expected to be Passenger Yacht Code compliant.
“Our top team of yacht building experts has long experience collaborating with world-renowned designers and architects,” AMELS Design Manager Hans Konings commented. “We have a deep understanding of shipbuilding and our strong connections with classification societies and flag states. However you imagine your AMELS Full Custom yacht, you can be sure of the most advanced design and engineering with the absolute highest AMELS quality.”
One of the crowning features of the design is the sundeck, where up to 20 guests can enjoy incredible panoramic views from the alfresco lounge complete with firepit for bracing spring and autumn nights, plus a pool to cool off in during the hottest days of the year.
The concept will be available to view as a 2-metre scale model at the Monaco Yacht Show (27-30 September).
