MDL Marinas, Europe’s largest marina owner and operator, will be welcoming Andrew Cornish as its new Chief Executive. The appointment follows Tony Keeler’s retirement in July after nine years of successful leadership at the helm of the company, during which time it has seen exceptional growth.
Andrew joins MDL Marinas from the Manchester Airport Group, where he has held the post of Managing Director for the past five years and was successful in leading Manchester Airport through a multi-million pound redevelopment of the airport itself and securing many major industry awards.
Edward Iliffe, Chief Executive of Yattendon, MDL’s parent company comments: “With his customer facing skills and expertise gained at Manchester Airport Andrew will bring a great deal of experience and knowledge to enable MDL to expand both domestically and internationally. Tony Keeler was instrumental in developing MDL into a business where the customer comes first and the strong foundations are in place to further develop both the leisure and property elements of the business under Andrew’s leadership.”
Newly appointed CEO, Andrew Cornish said: “I am very excited about joining MDL which has a great team with a proven track record of success. I look forward to continuing to develop an outstanding experience for all our customers, whilst embracing opportunities to grow MDL both in the UK and overseas.”
Andrew Cornish will take up his new CEO role in the autumn and Alan Chater, Finance Director, will assume the role of Acting Managing Director during the interim period.
