The complete list of nominees for the upcoming Asia Boating Awards 2011 has now been released, with some impressive surprises and the return of some industry stalwarts. Asian yacht builders have been growing in global market share and are now starting to get worldwide media recognition. The upcoming awards are sure to generate plenty of buzz, both in leisure marine media and in regional business media as well.
The Asia Boating Awards, now in its seventh year, is the region’s most established and respected event of its kind. This year sees awards in 23 categories, recognising Asian builders and international brands, as well as Asian regattas, marinas and yacht designers working in Asia. The pioneering Asia Boating Awards was the first event to recognise the efforts and successes of Asian yacht builders.
“There’s been an upswing in interest and respect from the world’s yacht buyers for what Asian yards can achieve, and the Asia Boating Awards have certainly helped to raise awareness globally,” said Ryan Swift, editor of Asia-Pacific Boating magazine.
The Asia Boating Awards will take place on May 6, on the first night of the Hong Kong Gold Coast Boat Show at the Hong Kong Gold Coast Yacht and Country Club, with live music and cocktails creating a fantastic night. The list of nominees comes from online polling of Asia-Pacific Boating readers, with final winners being determined by a panel of judges that have been selected for their ability to make informed, impartial decisions. The awards ceremony is organised by Blu Inc Media, publisher of Asia-Pacific Boating and its Chinese-language sister publication, China Boating.
