Now it’s the right time of the year when to go to the famous charter yacht destination the Island of Phuket to enjoy the sea, sun and fantastic atmosphere. Phuket is starting to become a center for Superyachts in South East Asia.
The event organizer Nina Larsson commented on this year’s event, ” We notice a big increase in interest from captains and owners and we are expecting more yachts than ever for the 2011 event. It is a great feeling to see that the event is growing and that owners are enjoying it so much.” The organizers are very happy to announce that the motor yacht Andara will host the opening Cocktail party on the 16th of December.
For the 11th year the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous which is organized by Asia Pacific Superyachts will be held at the fantastic reward winning Surin Hotel from December 16-18. The hotel has been fully renovated and will reopen just in time for the event. GM of the hotel Antonio Saponara commented, ‘the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous has grown since we have been involved and it’s fantastic that we can welcome some of the islands elite visitors and residents to our newly refurbished resort.´

Feadship Royal Dutch Shipyards is returning as principal sponsors for this year’s event. Feadship was established in 1949 and is today a world leading shipyard and has built many of the most renowned motor yachts in the world.
This yearly event is held to promote Super yachting in Asia and has been the leading event of its kind for the last 10 years. Both Motor and Sail Yachts over 100 feet are invited to join in this three day magical event that is filled with great sailing, socializing and world class parties.
The Asia Superyacht Rendezvous marks the beginning of the festive season in style and it’s set in a relaxed and joyful environment, owners captains and crew worldwide are taking about how much fun they have at the event.
The Asia Superyacht Rendezvous is an exclusive annual event held in Phuket, Thailand on the 16, 17 and 18th of December every year.

19:00 to 22:00 Cocktail Party aboard motor yacht Andara anchored in Surin Bay
17th December
10:30 Sailing Event Day 1 to be held in Surin Bay
Participating yachts will sail around a course set according to the conditions of the bay and the Race Committee
Explanation of the Rendezvous Booty and set of rules
18:00 Captains briefing for sailing event Day 2 at The Surin Hotel
19:00 to 22:00 The Feadship Challenge and Cocktail Party at the Surin swimming pool
The very popular “Challenge” is a gutter boat race where crews from the competing yachts model boats from a simple kit and with only one team member’s wind power, blow it down the gutter and back again.
18th December
10:30 Sailing Event Day 2 to be held in Surin Bay
The second and final Sailing Event will start and finish in Surin Bay
14:30 Motor Yacht and Sailing Yachts will begin the “Rendezvous Booty”
This will consist of a Treasure Hunt involving crew and guests.
18:30 VIP “Boat International Media Gala Dinner” to be held at The Surin Hotel Beach restaurant area
This is the highlight of the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous. The Surin Hotel will present a choice of sumptuous delights for which it is renowned, served overlooking the beauty of Thailand’s coastline. Live music along with Chinese Lanterns draws the dinner to a close, forging friendships and plans to return to the Rendezvous next year.
