Last Saturday, June 7, saw twelve beautiful Aston Martin cars come to the historic South Yard shipyard of the leading British luxury yacht builder, Princess Yachts.
Members of the Devon and Cornwall Aston Martin Owners Club were invited to visit some of the site’s historic buildings and superyacht manufacturing facilities where the Princess M Class range is built.
The historic tour included the No. 1 Covered Slip, a schedule ancient monument and one of only three remaining covered slips in the country, Kings Hill Gazebo, a memorial built to commemorate George III’s visit to the site in 1789, and the 18th century Ropery which now houses development mock-ups for the new Princess 35M as well as other upcoming Princess models. In contrast to the historic monuments the Club were then given a tour of the impressive superyacht facilities where they were shown the Princess 35m superyacht hull #1 in build and a 40M (example is motor yacht Imperial Princess) in production.
After the South Yard tour the group headed in convoy to Plymouth’s Royal William Yard for wine tasting with charcuterie and cheese. A Princess 56 was moored up in the harbour for the occasion and Aston owners were invited to step on board and discover this impressive flybridge yacht.
