Turkish superyacht builder, Esenyacht, has developed an augmented reality app, in partnership with the new Swedish media agency, 3D Interactive. This allows users to ‘fly’ over and through both the 50m sailing yacht Troy, currently under construction, as well as the new 50m composite motor yacht Project Taurus, that was unveiled for the first time at September’s Monaco Yacht Show. Available free of charge, the app can be downloaded from the Google Play store as well as Apple’s iTunes.
Esenyacht will be also delighted to provide demonstrations to visitors to their stand at this year’s Qatar International Boat Show.
The app uses two dimensional drawings (markers) to trigger 3D images on the screen of the tablet. The user can then move the tablet from side to side to move along the yacht, and up and down to zoom in and out to see details of the deck and interiors.
3D Interactive has used the very latest technology to bring new levels of realism to the augmented reality experience, enabling traditional renderings and line drawings to spring to life in an unprecedented way. This was the first time that AR of this quality had been used at the Monaco Yacht Show and it attracted a good deal of attention as 2D drawings came to life on the tablet screens and spontaneous animations highlighted specific aspects of the yachts. Over time, Esenyacht will add more information to the apps, giving ever greater levels of detail on these and future projects to its customers and followers.
Additional images of superyacht Project Taurus showing more details of this 50m composite motoryacht will be released at the Qatar International Boat Show.
