Avadesign has revealed their latest 70-metre motor yacht concept NEW DIAMOND by Andrea Vastano. The 70-metre motor yacht concept began when a Russian ship owner requested a concept that should have strong and clean-cut exterior lines. With the collaboration of James Van Der Marwe and Fabio Cardinale, the New Diamond superstructure will span four decks, be would be built of aluminium and would utilise eco-sustainable technology. One of the main aspects of the design was to create a yacht that would be as “green” as possible, an increasing trend in the Superyacht industry.
“The yacht will have low fuel consumption and low emissions, making it suitable for long ocean crossings,” “It has a hybrid propulsion system, two diesel engines and two electric engines coupled with gas turbines, enabling us to have considerable power, respectable energy usage, economic savings and a very low environmental impact.” says Avadesign.
One of the most unique features if the design is a large transparent LCD hatch at the aft of the vessel composed of a thick resin creating a frosted glass affect when required covers the beach area on the lower deck. This hatch protects the swimming pool area, providing privacy whilst allowing light in, but can also be fully opened if preferred. The steel hull has a reverse bow with two tender garages on the main deck and two aft of the vessel.
Another special feature of the NEW DIAMOND design is a waterfall that cascades from the Spa Pool on the main deck to the swimming pool on the lower deck. Inside the beach club area, the interior features an American-style bar with armchairs, along with a sauna and a dive room.
“The interior includes two bars, a cinema room and a dining area on the upper deck that can accommodate between 12 to 14 people,” notes Vastano. “The yacht can accommodate guests in cabins in the lower deck which is connected to the upper decks by means of both stairs and a lift.”
The New Diamond by Avadesign, the 70 meter concept vessel designed by Andrea Vastanomay well become a limited series ranging from 70 to 120 meters, the number of decks will be subjected to size, keeping the features same though. “Our goal is to respect this concept on all models, increasing the number of decks, but otherwise maintaining the same basic design,” explains Vastano, founder and designer at Avadesign.
Recently, the AVADESIGN Studio of Prato was invited, by ICON YACHTS Shipyard BV, to begin a collaboration on a project for a new design idea of a 62 meter superyacht SNAKE ONE in steel and aluminium, based on a pre-determined engineering plan.
