Motor Yacht Azimut Grande 140 is the newest concept by the Italian yacht builder Azimut Grande of the Azimut–Benetti Group, unveiled at this year’s Cannes Boat Show. Azimut Grande 140 superyacht is the largest model ever built by Azimut Grande and the new flagship of the range.
This motor-yacht is born from the combined experience of Azimut and Benetti. Thanks to the revolutionary D2P_Displacement to Planning hull, the new yacht creates a unique concept: the performance of a planning hull combined with the cruising comfort of a displacement hull.
The new geometry of the new D2P_Displacement to Planning hull is the result of a research process initiated with a very complex project, continuing with virtual 3D simulations and culminating with tank-testing at the Brodarski Institut in Zagreb. During this last phase, propulsion tests of the hull to verify final propulsive efficiency and the relative speed performances were also processed.
The new Azimut Grande 140 yacht hull, compared to regular hulls with same displacement, guarantees a significant reduction in wave resistance, with a consequent reduction of consumption and an overall increase in efficiency and cruising range.
Style and layout
Exteriors of the new motor yacht Azimut Grande 140 were designed by Stefano Righini while the interior concept has been entrusted – for the first time at Azimut Grande – to the famous British yacht design firm Redman-Whitley-Dixon, which has successfully collaborated with Benetti in the past. This new model is proposed in three different stiles and 15 lay-outs, bringing the concept of customisation to the next level. This is the result of the boatbuilding experience of Azimut and Benetti, along with market requirements.
From the three concepts developed by Redman-Whitley-Dixon, LAND, SEA and AIR , each providing a unique interior space with a distinctive set of individual features and a character of their own, the Owner will then be able to choose from no less than 15 mixes of layout and style.
SEA provides a dramatic yet casual space with a distinctive air of the coast. Sun bleached timbers and natural fabrics create a modern, light space with delicate colour accents. Bronze metal details literally weave the timber feature panels together, to add a feeling of formality to an otherwise relaxed interior style.
AIR is a contemporary space that uses elevated surfaces and clean defined lines to create a spacious, open interior. Vertical metal accents wrap overhead dividing fabric panels and appear to support highly polished surfaces. Mirrored kick recesses and lacquered surfaces are a striking contrast to the luxurious gloss timber doors and feature walls. Crisp, dramatically lit gesso panels provide interesting focal points in the saloons and dining spaces.LAND provides a feeling of tailored English luxury, a softer, contemporary take on the classic panelled interior.
A layering of timber surfaces and fine detailing exude style and a distinct attention to detail. Rich, finely patterned fabrics and bronze accent features are accompanied by deep fabric colours that contrast the light, herringbone fabric wrapped panels.
Main features of the new Azimut Grande 140 yacht
– Three decks
– Two Spa Pool’s, one on the main deck with the lunch and lounge areas and sun-beds, which allows the best possible privacy when at dock. The second Spa Pool is located on the sun deck.
– Beach Area equipped with lounge bar, chaises longues, shower and a day head – the space was obtained by moving the tender and water toys to a lateral garage.
