Italian shipyard Baglietto has announced the launch of 48m/157ft luxury yacht LION on the 4th of June at its facilities in La Spezia.
The third hull in the Baglietto Displacement Traditional line, M/Y LION was known as HULL #10233 during construction and features exterior styling by Francesco Paszkowski. The steel hull and aluminium superstructure offer excellent stability and volume for guest amenities, including a 140m²/1507ft² sundeck which has a stern pool and sunbeds, and another sunbathing area forward.
The interiors come from the shipyard in-house team with Leonardo Santi acting as the Owner’s representative for selecting furnishings and decor. Ochre and bronze create a warm and harmonious setting in combination with dark glossy wood, neutral oak and floor-to-ceiling windows that let the sunshine pour in. The 42m²/452ft² beach club will be a favourite place to unwind or let off steam in the gym and spa.
Superyacht LION has several improvements over sister hulls ANDIAMO and SILVER FOX: The upper deck has a different layout to optimise the space in the sky lounge, and a semi-circular window blends the line between indoor and outdoor space with the creation of a winter garden for alfresco dining. The lower deck also has a modified layout, where two large cabins – which are essentially additional Master suites – can be divided into two to create four double en-suite cabins instead. Lastly, the Owner requested a crystal lift/elevator to connect all decks from the lower deck up to the sundeck.
For cruising, the MTU 12V 2000 M72 engines give 11 knots and a maximum speed of 15 knots.
