Italian shipyard Baglietto has announced that construction has begun on its 54m/177ft custom motor yacht known as PROJECT 231 (aka Baglietto 10231).
The superyacht was first revealed as concept renders in January 2018 following its sale over the summer of 2017. The aluminium hull has arrived at the La Spezia facilities and will be built to Lloyds Registry standards, with an interior layout covering three decks. A cut-out feature on the main deck suggests that there will be a fold-down balcony off the main salon.
The naval architecture will be completed by Baglietto with the interior designer to be revealed at a later date.
The exterior profile shows a plumb bow as part of a contemporary design which incorporates broad windows running along the sides of the hull and superstructure, with a Jacuzzi situated on a spacious foredeck created for alfresco lounging.
M/Y PROJECT 231 is due for launch in 2020. Once completed, her engines will produce a cruising speed of 12 knots and a superb range of 4,500 nautical miles.
