Baltic Yachts have revealed information on a 170ft sailing yacht project which should be delivered in 2014. The Baltic 170’ Sailing yacht project is an approach from judel/vrolijk & co to combine some classic design aesthetics with a more modern hull shape and a deck styling that makes the boat unique.
The hull design features a plump bow and a canoe like stern giving the yacht a very long effective length. The stern shape and sections have been refined to take advantage of the overhang but not to lose the perfect overhang profile. Combined with a deep lifting keel arrangement and a very tall sloop rig the performance of the Baltic 170 Sailing Yacht will be outstanding. Her lifting keel will allow her to vary her draught from a maximum of 6.20-meters to a minimum of around just 3.80-meters.
Design Unlimited, are responsible for the interior design and have gone through a number of preliminary options in order to come up with the ultimate general arrangement.
With an LOA of just over 51-meters and a beam of over 9-meters, the Baltic Yachts 170-foot Sailing Yacht will offer plenty of space. The new yacht is expected to be delivered in 2014.
