Baltic Yachts yesterday launched a custom-built Baltic 85 sailing yacht designed with the naval architecture and exterior styling of the prominent studio Dixon Yacht Design. Nigel Ingram of MCM managed the build, and Mark Whiteley Design produced her interiors.
Built from composite, the lightweight sloop-rigged sailing yacht features E-Glass for an outer skin and Divinycell foam core and pre-preg carbon for the inner skin.
A telescopic lifting keel reduces the draft from 4.3m/14.1ft to 2.95m/9.7ft for improved navigation of shallow waterways, while a beam of 6.25m/20.5ft creates spacious interiors that accommodate up to four guests over an Owner’s cabin and a guests cabin. The crew accommodation provides for two, ensuring that guests receive excellent service while still maintaining a sense of peace and privacy on board.
Baltic Yacht currently has four ongoing builds, the largest of which are a Baltic 112 Custom sailing yacht and a Baltic 142 sailing yacht, both due for launch in 2019.
