Baltic Yachts is the first company within the global boat industry to have obtained the DNV Quality, Safety and Environmental certificates. The development and implementation of the business quality management systems ISO 9001 (in 2008), ISO 14001 (in 2004) and the OHSAS 18001 (in 2007) mean that the company is aware of the customer’s quality requirements, quality level of its products and their maintenance.
The company is conscious of the environment, continuously developing and improving its processes. The occupational health and safety certificate shows that hazards and risks in the working environment are constantly and systematically prevented through, for instance, better protective equipment and ergonomics at work. The new operational management system enables the company to be even more competitive and operate in a considerably more cost-effective way.
Baltic Yachts quality and production engineer, Andreas Snellman says, “Thanks to the implementation process of the Environment and Safety systems, Baltic Yachts personnel have become increasingly aware of environmental and safety aspects, which they can affect in their daily work and thus contribute to a safer and more congenial place of work. In addition, more effective production is achieved, ensuring greater orderliness and optimal use of materials in the production process.”
“We are very proud to have obtained these certificates. They are the result of 12 months of hard, unstinting work, in which both minor and major processes have become more effective and documented. They will go on contributing, in a positive way, to the company’s profitability and competitive strength in the light of the clear, effective processes throughout the whole project time. This will also enhance the image of Baltic Yachts as an employer who takes good care of its employees and actively works for an even safer and more secure place of work,” says Marjo Keiramo, Managing Director of Baltic Yachts.
