With plenty of new and emerging tourist destinations in the Caribbean, the enchanting yacht charter location – Barbados is facing a growing amount of competition to attract the world’s best superyachts. However despite a great variety of options available for superyacht owners and guests, Barbados has remained one of the most popular destinations for luxury yachts this Caribbean season, as stated by Platinum Port Agency, a leading yacht agent.

There are many new, up and coming locations in the Caribbean offering a range of new opportunities for tourists and holiday makers. Islands such as Redonda, Anegada, Montserrat and Nevis offer visitors opportunities to see unique landscapes, and an altogether different experience compared to the more popular islands of the Caribbean.
However with this challenge on the horizon, Barbados continues to impress superyacht owners and guests, as it has done for many years, with its white sandy beaches, clear waters, consistent climate and picturesque landscapes.
When talking to Yachting Pages, Kreigg Yearwood, coordinator of marine operations at Platinum Port Agency explained, “Barbados is proving to be one of the more popular locations for superyachts. We have definitely seen an up rise in visiting yachts in Barbados so far this season, including 60m sailing yacht Seahawk, 82m motor yacht Secret and the 133m superyacht Serene, among many other yachts and ships.”
There are a whole host of reasons to visit Barbados, whether it’s the sublime beaches, colonial towns, the year-round tropical climate or the many restaurants and clubs. Barbados continues to offer visitors the opportunity to both experience another way of life, much like its lesser known competitors, but also allows visitors to indulge in an array of unique activities and opportunities.
Along with the many vessels Barbados attracts all year round, unsurprisingly, come the facilities needed to accommodate some of the largest superyachts in the world. Marinas in Barbados include Port St. Charles, which offers berths for some of the world’s larger superyachts, with a vast array of marinas located at nearby islands including the popular St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Grenada.
