Dedicated to the most loyal exhibitors of the Genoa Boat Show, the “Barchino d’Oro” award ceremony was held in the revamped Genoa Acquarium, in the midst of the dolphin tanks.
Donatella Bianchi from Linea Blu, the long-lasting Rai tv programme which deals with all aspects of the sea, conducted the ceremony and Sara Armella, President of the Fair, Anton Francesco Albertoni, President of Ucina, Carla Sibilla, Genoa Cultural Assessor and Paolo Odone, President of Genoa CCIAA presented the awards.
OLCESE RICCIs.r.l. received the award for 50 years’ participation, and FAS S.p.A. , RECAMBIOS MARINOS S.L., REXMAR s.r.l., VM s.r.l., K e G MEDITERRANEAN MARINAS MANAGEMENT S.A. and PAGLIARINI INTERNATIONAL BOATS s.r.l. were awarded for 10 years’ presence.
The evening concluded with the excellent hospitality of Genova Gourmet, a gastronomic association created by the Genoa CCIAA to bring together the best of Ligurian restaurateurs and which delighted the palates of the guests with typical Genoese and regional dishes.

Superyacht Azimut 80, a new 24 metre from Azimut, has been named “the most functional yacht in the 24 – 50 metre category” by the 2013 World Yachts Trophy expert jury, composed of journalists from LuxMedia, the French publishing group.
Designed to interpret a lifestyle where comfort and wellbeing merge with sophisticated elegance, luxury yacht Azimut 80 offers 4 cabins and 5 bathrooms to accommodate 8/9 guests and 2 cabins for the captain and crew.
The dining room, with teak flooring, is spacious and welcoming with a large sofa at the stern and a table for 8. Two striking floor to ceiling windows (1.6 by 2m) placed in the dining area offer wonderful natural lighting.
The main bathroom is very attractive, offering an authentic spa feel with a whirlpool and a central glass shower box.
Motor yacht Atlantis 50, a 16 metre coupè model, already part of the brand, makes its formal appearance in the Azimut Yacht collection. It has a decidedly sporty feel and a glass hood and a refined design. Available in both Open and Coupè models, this new model is ideal for those who seek direct contact with the sea, yet moments of friendly intimacy too.
Plenty of space to sunbathe at the stern. The tender can be stored in the garage below. Atlantis 50 can accommodate 4 to 6 people, with an optional third cabin.
The largest boat yet produced by Ferretti Yachts, the flagship of the stand is superyacht Ferretti 960. Almost 30 m long, like the other yachts designed by Giovanni Zuccon, it also has huge windows to admire the sea from within.
29,20 m long and a 23.98 the flagship meets CE design and so can be considered a leisure craft with no need for a professional captain.
Ferretti 960 yacht is the brand’s first vessel with a master cabin on the main deck and 4 cabins on the lower deck, all similar in size and fittings.
Ferretti 750 yacht is the evolution of the earlier 720, with even more comfort and a flying bridge which is now a true sun bridge, and with different internal layouts geared to satisfy the owner’s every need
Frauscher 858 yacht tender, a 8.67 metre open motorboat is a sculpure on water. The creative contributions of Harry Miesbauer and Kiska Design convey an original Austrian mountain to sea style.
Designed to accommodate 7 people, the 858 Fantom superyacht tender offers comfortable sunbathing to the stern as well as plenty of space at the prow and a below deck cabin. The teak cover together with material available in various colours renders the boat even more fascinating.
Two world famous designers, Garroni Design and Toni Castro Yacht Design, together with Jeanneau have created the NC14, another example from the NC range, boasting advanced architectural design and with the ergonomics worthy of a supercar.
Montecarlo Yacht proposed the MCY86 yacht as its flagship and the strong family feeling pervades, enriched by refined and quality detail. The layout offers three, four or five cabins and fittings can be personalized

Little dinghies can grow. They can even become 13 metre flagships. Capelli Tempest 44 is one such. An elegant top-performance cruiser equipped with a twin cabin at the prow and a central double cabin. There’s a kitchen and bathroom too.
The 22 metre Emys Yacht hails from Viareggio. It boasts a steel keel,and an aluminium superstructure. With highly effective soundproofing and zero-speed stabilizers, she guarantees total comfort with the space associated with a 30 metre craft.
The smallest boat at the 53rd Genoa Boat Show is the 1.85m Roll 185 yacht tender from Arimar. Agile and light, it’s perfect when space is a priority. Equipped with ample tubes and a synthetic material base reinforced by rods it can be rolled up easily and quickly and stored and carried anywhere in its bag. Designed to carry two people it weighs just 24 kg.
Dinghies, marine charts and safety systems
More unusual exhibits at the show include Zartender of Zar Formenti with two models ZF1 and ZF3 measuring 3.35 and 3.99 metres respectively but also the HP Reef range of BWA dinghies. The range offers 4 models offering ample space, hold and load capacities.
Yet another 6 metre dinghy which completes the large range Tempest of Capelli and Yamaha and Adrenalina 7.5 from Lomac which has a practical and ecological wc in its console with a tank for waste water
But we haven’t finished yet: for the nostalgics of traditional marine charts, Navimap proposed its collection of 138 charts of the Italian coastline with 50 still to complete, waterproofed and rip-proof, format 47.7×69.7 cm.
For accidents at sea there was BBS – block boat system – distributed by Veleria San Giorgio, which comprises a reading base and identity bracelets to be worn by captain and crew which cause the vessel to stop immediately to allow a quick retrieval of the man overboard.
