Built in 1979 at the Kanasashi Shipyard in Japan, M/Y EVOLUTION has already had plenty of adventures across the world. Now as she heads to the Galapagos Islands, she offers exceptional modern accommodation and an abundance of indoor and outdoor living spaces for resting and rejuvenating surrounded by exotic scenery and rare creatures few have seen in real life.
Foredeck with a sunbathing area and a Jacuzzi
On board, the pale wooden furniture complements the white painted walls and original fittings such as the porthole windows. This light and modern colour scheme further emphasises the sense of space and light on board in both the comfortable cabins and shared guest areas.
The space on board is efficiently used as well: The main deck salon places larger furnishings around the edge of the room while loose furnishings such as the armchair and drinks tables create more intimate conversation areas in the centre of the salon. Behind the salon is a boutique and coffee station, plus a reception for service and finding out about upcoming itineraries.
Evolution alfresco dining, GPS
In the formal dining room to the aft of the main deck, guests are grouped around four large tables for comfortable service and an emphasis on conversation. Instead of dining indoors the main deck aft has a similar layout for guests to enjoy the same service while savouring the fresh air and the location’s soundscape.
The foredeck is the main sunbathing area on board and provides sun loungers and a generous Jacuzzi for multiple guests to rest together in the sunshine or under the stars.
The outdoor deck spaces are just as usable at night, and the spotlights in the ceiling provide an abundance of light in a warm glow for alfresco dining after sunset or conversations out on the sofas over drinks from the bar on the upper deck.

There is a great collection of water toys available on board for exploring the unusual shores, including:
- 8 x kayaks
- 2 x pangas
- snorkelling equipment, and
- wetsuits
The experienced crew of 20 will provide stellar service and ensure that guests have a fully immersive experience among the islands, spotting blue-footed boobies (April is a great time to see them doing their mating dance), Galapagos tortoises and marine iguanas swimming through glassy turquoise lagoons.
On a trek of the island, you’ll be able to spot the red-throated frigate bird, the Galapagos hawk, and the short-eared owl. Snorkelers and Scuba divers will be treated to a once-in-a-lifetime experience swimming among golden cownose rays, spotted eagle rays, king angelfish and parrotfish. Octopi and reef sharks are also common, and around Bartholomew Island, there is the chance to see Galapagos penguins.
Twin guest suite
Once guests have tired themselves out discovering the island wonders, they can return on board for a satisfying night’s rest. The accommodation sleeps up to 32 guests across 16 en-suite cabins: 1 Master suite, 2 double cabins, 1 twin cabin and 12 convertible cabins from twins to doubles.
All cabins are spacious, however, the Master Suite on the upper deck is particularly so and comes furnished with a king-sized bed and a sofa for relaxing in privacy, plus an en-suite bathroom that is just as light and well-proportioned.
