Italian shipyard Benetti has announced the sale of motor yacht BP001 the first luxury yacht in the DIAMOND 145 model, which was first unveiled at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2018 and is the new flagship for the Class series.
The Giorgio M. Cassetta-styled exteriors make use of extensive glazing for panoramic views and naturally-lit interiors. A long reverse sheer line, a dramatic raked bow coupled with sturdy gunwales creates an unmistakably modern design.
The interiors are customised by the new Owner, who has used a light colour palette for a cosmopolitan look to emphasise the abundance of space in the open-plan areas and generous cabins. The full-beam Master suite is placed on the main deck forward and is furnished with a large wardrobe, an office and a full-beam en-suite bathroom. The main deck amidships hosts the service area and galley, which connects directly to the main salon. The Owner has requested more space for the lounge area, which has been furnished with large sofas, and the formal dining area has instead been moved to the upper deck.
The rest of the guest accommodation is placed on the lower deck and consists of four double cabins and a separate area for the crew accommodation and services.
The exterior features a beach club to the stern and the spacious swim platform are designed to sit at water level for a breath-taking connection to the local environment. On the main deck, the aft alfresco lounge makes use of the broad beam to put an extensive sofa along the stern and two drinks tables, an armchair and stools are placed upon a rug.
The upper deck places a circular alfresco dining table under the shade of the sundeck overhang and along the stern, there is a sofa, armchairs and a wet bar for elegant entertaining, day or night. Uninterrupted views are commonplace on board, however, the foredeck will be a favourite place to unwind with the offerings of two sofas each curving around a raised oval table, while on the bow there is a broad sunbed that sinks into the spa pool. Additional space is available on the bow for secluded sunbathing, socialising or additional storage for water toys. The elegant sundeck has an abundance of sunbathing space forward and aft, and under the hardtop an alfresco dining area, sofa and wet bar await guests.
For power, a pair of MAN engines each producing 1,400 HP allow for a top speed of 15 knots, a cruising speed of 11 knots and a range of 3,800 nautical miles.
“Diamond 145 was presented only four months ago but right from the design stage we realised it was a model with incredible potential,” Benetti CEO Franco Fusignani explained. “Representing the perfect synthesis of the core features of the Benetti Displacement Class across its entire history. BP001 is currently being fitted out at the Viareggio shipyard and will be delivered to her owner on the first half of 2020.
