Besenzoni have designed and introduced three new sun protection technologies for superyachts for the upcoming season. The first new designed called ‘Petalo’ is a new take on the classic umbrella. Designed by Emanuele Salvador, the Petalo shade cover is a perfect synthesis of aesthetics and ergonomics. Shaped by the wind, thin fabric is drawn up in the air, providing continuous protection from sunrays.
It keeps its form and position without particular couplings, weights or framings, because wind forces are discharged by the controlled deformation of the sailing shade, making “Petalo” suitable on all surfaces. The decentralised position of the carbon fibre support column ensures a maximum usability of the area and the “Petalo” retracts easily into a storage bag when not in use.
Besenzoni have also designed an aft sunshade available in a rigid version as well as in canvas. The shades can be retracted hydraulically or electrically and when in its rest position is perfectly integrated with the roof.
The third product from Besenzoni is Bimini Arches, a sunshade which disappears into a deck compartment to keep the clean lines of the yacht when not in use. These Bimini arches are ideal for use on the bow of the yacht where it can create a comfortable and secluded living area forward.
