The recently established Boating Industries Alliance Australia (BIAA) has joined the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) as a full member.
The newly formed peak body for the marine industry in Australia is the successor to the now disbanded Australian Marine Industries Federation (AMIF).
“Following the demise of AMIF, I am very pleased that a new national federation has been formed in Australia and that they have chosen to re-join the international community of marine industry associations reflecting the international nature of this industry and the marine market,” said ICOMIA Secretary General Tony Rice.
BIAA has been the alliance of the six state-based boating industry associations in Australia since its formation in early 2011. The association is now taking the lead on a wide range of national issues and initiatives with Nik Parker as General Manager.
One of the key objectives of BIAA is to promote and advance the industry, including increasing the market place by growing participation and further developing the professionalism of the industry.
