Three boat shows in three weeks was always going to be a tough challenge, but the effort has certainly paid dividends for the renowned UK luxury yacht tender manufacturer, Scorpion RIBs.
The Cannes Yachting Festival was the first of the shows, and the fantastic Scorpion Stealth yacht tender fitted with a single 300hp Mercury Verado impressed SuperYacht owners and Captains; many of whom experienced the incredible ride of our twin stepped hull in the bay of Cannes. It was great to hear many exalt Scorpion as the best boat they had ever driven.
Just a few days later, and Scorpion was exhibiting again; this time at the Southampton Boat Show, where they revealed the latest addition to the Ben Ainslie Racing stable. Designed and built specifically to support BAR’s new AC45 catamaran, the custom Scorpion Serket 98 superyacht tender is rigged with additional sophisticated telemetry to provide detailed performance data for the BAR team in their America’s Cup preparations.
Last but not least came Scorpion’s second year exhibiting at the Monaco Yacht Show, where once again the Scorpion Stealth yacht tender received a great reception. Again Scorpion was delighted to take many customers into the bay to show off Scorpion’s unequalled sea-keeping performance. This year, it was even more satisfying to see many existing Superyacht customers, and to see them using their Scorpions to carry crew and owners to the visitor’s pontoon in Port Hercule.
Ultimately the proof of any show is in the orders that they generate; and Scorpion is certainly delighted with their few weeks on the French Riviera. With a full factory and an order book stretching well into next summer the company has already booked their space at both Cannes and Monaco for 2015.
