Solent Refit reports a busy December as well as year 2013 and wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. The refit yard also bid farewell to the 57m Sailing Yacht Montigne after which she headed to exhibit in the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. She has completed her extensive refit on time and is now looking resplendent and waiting for a new owner.
Quote from Capt Mark Lumley:
“The boat looks amazing and we had some great feedback from the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, I just wonder what we could have achieved if we had more time! If I am in the area, and need work doing, you will be the first people I call.”
Solent Refit returned from exhibiting at the prestigious Monaco Yacht Show, the stand was busy and attracted plenty of interested visitors. We also managed to get the unofficial “best give away” with our LED cooling fans. Interest in the Yard and hits on the website have risen dramatically since we returned from the Show.
Solent Refit welcomes two new vessels for winter refits, one of which is the 33m S.Y. Tigerlily, which arrived ready to go straight into the main hall.
Solent Refit will remove her masts and she will be transferred into the main hall on the rail system, her works include a new paint job, some steel works plus her 5 year RINA survey.
Sailing Yacht EARL OF PEMBROKE
Next to arrive was the 44m Tall Ship “Earl of Pembroke”, a star of many television shows and films. She is being hauled on the transverse slipway and will spend a few weeks ashore, where she will keep Solent Refit’s shipwrights busy. She is having some timbers and frames replaced along with the 1500 meters of deck joints. This is to be done in keeping with her age, to keep her authentic to continue with her film star roles, using Oakham and Jefferies Pitch.
