Cantiere delle Marche (CdM) has announced the signing of a contract in the USA for a DARWIN 106 explorer yacht, which will be delivered in time for the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2021.
Based on the DARWIN 102 platform, the DARWIN 106 measures 32 metres and will be modified to match her Owners’ requirements. Specs for the former expedition yacht provide accommodation for 8-10 guests over five cabins, with a crew of six accommodated over three cabins. Twin CAT C18 ACERT engines provide a maximum speed of 13 knots, a cruising speed of 11.5 knots and an economical speed of 9.5 knots at which the vessel can cruise 4,700 nautical miles.
“We knew that our explorers perfectly fitted with the American Owners’ requirements as for volumes, spaces, robustness, long range, technical reliability, functionality, no-nonsense approach and, last but not least, customer care and after sale service,” says Vasco Buonpensiere, co-founder and Sales & Marketing Director at CdM. “The point was how to let them know. It took a few years but we made it, eventually, as scheduled.”
Among the notable features of the DARWIN 106 luxury yacht is a country kitchen in the main salon, an Owner stateroom on the upper deck instead of a sky lounge, and a cockpit fitted for sportfishing with the lazarette designed accordingly.
The DARWIN 106 is due to enter construction shortly, at which time more information will be released.
