May 6, 2013, at the Cantieri Navali Chioggia shipyard in Italy, saw the launch of a new floating dry dock during a private ceremony. This Dry Dock was built by the company in order to adapt its structures and to open its business to the market of Luxury Yachting.

The Floating Dry Dock with dimensions of 60 meters to 1,500 tons of capacity with an internal net width of 23 meters is a modern tool for lifting and launching any type of vessel up to 70 meters in length. With an internal width of 23 meters, the Dry Dock can be used for lifting the modern catamarans, that due to their greater width can not find the shipyards equipped to be dry docked without risk for their integrity.
The difference between the Cantieri Navali Chioggia and other shipyards is in the fact that while other shipyards make use of external structures, Cantieri Navali Chioggia uses only its own facilities and equipment with a consistent reduction of business costs with a consequent saving of money for Yacht owners who decide to take advantage of the company’s services.
The new Floating Dry Dock was built to the highest quality standards available today. An advanced software control with touch-screen monitors allows a single operator to control the dry dock helm station easily and perform maneuvers immersion, lifting and positioning in complete control with extreme safety and precision.

For over 25 years, the Cantieri Navali Chioggia has been specialized in the shipbuilding activity, naval re-conversions, structural modifications, conversions, maintenance, paintworks, new shipbuilding, re-power, and all carpentry works and marine engineering. The yard of Chioggia in addition to the new floating dock also has two motorized slipways for ships up to 120 meters long and over 5000 tons weight!
The new floating dry dock will also allow the company to grant to the Ocean King Yacht Explorer customers an innovative service for prompt intervention to resolve on-site any works that require dry docking the yacht.
