The Electoral Assembly of Ucina Confindustria Nautica during which new President Carla Demaria was elected with a majority was held today at Santa Margherita in Ligure. 884 votes of a total of 1128 votes available were represented in the Assembly, that is approximately 80%, confirming a broad elective bases. Those in favor were 879.
The title of her program “Etica, Solidarietà, Rinnovamento” (Ethics, Solidarity, Renewal), which was presented to Members, anticipates a broad revision of the Statute and the intensity of the work programs for the next months: Carla Demaria is a strong voice in an important moment for the life of the association.
“After some companies left – said the new President – we were resized but strengthened as far as democratic values inspiring an organization and representation of business interests are concerned. I do not believe in the contrast between big and small ones, and I am convinced that the differences can be transformed into confrontation. The changes I proposed to the Statute will expand Shareholder’s participation in decisions through the shortening of the chain of governance. In addition each one of the seven sectors which we have identified will have a precise representation”.
Among the new President’s intentions the statutory mission of Ucina for representing, defending and promoting the entire Italian boating industry, both in Italy and abroad, remains essential.
The institutional activities of Ucina can count on an advisory board that will support the decisions and which is composed of representatives belonging to the academic world of entrepreneurial professions.
The program also provides the start-up of new projects of international fame that will benefit from greater integration with the European Boating Industry and an enlargement of membership as a result of new services made available that will increase the advantage of the business relationship.
Carla Demaria has confirmed the central role of the Genoa Boat Show, whose organization continues being performed at a rapid pace: “which continues to be the best showcase for our marine industry, for tradition and knowledge of the public. In terms of layout you can expose boats and create events for the public which other shows around the world are not able to do. According to our Association doing it right also means representing and protecting the category”.
