The Van Dam Nordia shipyard is one of the world’s oldest yacht-builders. Since shipbuilding is a trade that often goes from one generation to the next, the Van Dam yard has also been passed on through the family ranks. Until this day the yard is owned by the Van Dam family and run by Robert van Dam’s son in law Jacco Jongkind, Managing Director of the yard. The design department is lead by Robin ten Hoope, who has been co-responsible for the latest generation of Nordia yachts for the past 10 years. This month Van Dam Nordia welcomed the Yacht Sirene to our yard, a motoryacht built by Feadship in 1962. This lovely yacht has already had many modifications over the decades, and the current owner is aiming to bring her back to original state.
