Delivered in August 2014, the 27,15m (89’10’’) superyacht YOLO is a beautiful Nauta Air 86’ vessel, built by Cantiere delle Marche (CdM) to a design by Nauta Design. Luxury motor yacht YOLO boasts stylish and elegant interiors, designed by Luxury Projects.
Appointed directly by the young Owner of the YOLO yacht and thanks to his trust, Designers had a real chance to express all their creativity and utilize new ideas during the entire design process.
The Architecture and Design project of luxury yacht YOLO have been focused since the first step on a great attention of every single area of the yacht, trying to create a different style and a custom layout from the standard version with the aft salon and forward dining/galley & four cabins.
During the construction of super yacht YOLO one of the major efforts of the design studio was merging the very specific Owner requests with already planned or built structures.
Designers almost “re-invented” the existing furniture functions and spaces from the original standard layout. Great examples of this achievements are the introduction of the SPA and the VIP forward cabin, where the spaces were increased thanks to a different positioning of the side bulkheads and under-window furniture.
Design, constant research of innovative materials and lighting were the key points that allowed Luxury Projects studio to achieve the Owner’s expectations.
Laura Pomponi, CEO & Founder of Luxury Projects (LP) , says: “Thanks to the Owner trust, with my Team we had a real chance to express all our creativity and utilize new ideas during the entire design process. We really worked closely to the Owner following his strict requirements from the spaces, to the lighting effects, to the colors, and creating for him special warm and cozy interiors up to the custom-crafted paintings in the walls.”
YOLO yacht benefits from a fully-custom lighting system. Using state-of the art LEDs ( no more grids of ceiling spots), different white color temperatures were carefully elected along with a high-tech, top standard, custom entertainment system. This was highly demanding and meant the Designers had to find clever compromises with the available spaces and the furniture design concepts indoor and outdoor.
The independent Owner Area, full beam, rich of natural light both sides, shows her incredible spaces dimensions thanks to the glass doors dividing the cabin from the wide shower in travertino custom-designed tiles.
Passing by the wheelhouse the second staircase of the YOLO superyacht is leading to the elegant VIP in blue color tones and the green twin cabin with the possibility of conversion in a double bed. The amazing GYM-SPA area, where the wide and equipped gym is connected, with a proper wellness path, to the emotional shower and the hamman, is still enviable even in yachts of bigger dimensions.
The cozy salon with the relax area at forward and the custom lounge sofa opposite the TV are showing exactly, as per Owner’s request, the idea of asymmetrical spaces, where the dining area is the aft port side just behind the galley, custom designed in a white lacquered wood and top/splash in silestone material, same used for the bar counter creating a continuity of material from outdoor to indoor, trough the big window for a direct serving facility and overlooking the cockpit with the comfortable aft sofa.
The fully equipped wheelhouse from the dashboard to the functional chart-top and a nice starboard side bench with a folding table close to the wide archive shelves.
The Sundeck offering an incredible space, allowed the Designers to create different areas where enjoy sun, dining, relax and chill out. From the Jacuzzi joint to the side sunpad, the relax sofa is mid ship positioned, opposite the bar counter, fully equipped of fridges, ice-makers and a big barbeque-grill. One of the most exiting outdoor areas still remains the amazing forward sunpad on the maindeck with a proper atmosphere lighting and backlit biminis, where the top sound system is making it the proper space to enjoy a great cruise.
Favourite / key aspect of the YOLO yacht project
Design, constant research of innovative materials and lighting were the key points that allowed Luxury Projects studio to achieve a fresh and new interiors for this yacht, achieving the Owner’s expectations.
The Designers could really experiment with materials never before used on board as the real stone extremely light panels in the aft staircase to the Owner Area and the cork mirror frame in the bathroom, the VIP glass doors with inlaid silk wires and the horn details of the salon shelves and cabinet handles. Avoiding the standard shining leathers generally used on ceilings, the Designers carried out research into different finishes. The final result was a custom-made material similar to alcantara, giving a matte effect to the ceilings as well as the Owner’s cabin headboard is in a custom design woven goat leather, production by Luxury Projects Supplies.
The interiors of the YOLO yacht are largely dominated by natural nuances of white and taupe/brown, with some touch of colors as greens and blues, and have been given a tactile finish from the use of the personalized wood to the differing textures, leathers and fabrics, creating a relaxed and joyful atmosphere.
Luxury Project team really worked closely to the Owner following his strict requirements from the spaces, to the lighting effects, to the colors, and creating for him special warm and cozy interiors up to the custom-crafted paintings on the walls.
