China boasts a mainland coastline as well as an island coastline of 18 thousand kilometers and 14 thousand kilometers respectively. The sea areas under the jurisdiction of the PRC reach 3 million km2. The vast and diversified water area undoubtedly offers favorable natural condition for the development of yacht industry in China.
The developed area is concentrated mainly in the southeast of China, where there are abundant water resources such as inland rivers, lakes and offshore waters. The GDP per capita in coastal developed provinces like Guangdong achieved USD7000, and that in first-tier cities such as Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, has reached USD10000, which all exceeded the threshold for rapid growth of yacht consumption.
Currently, yacht manufacturing industry is still in the initial stage of development, international yacht brands dominate the medium and high-end yacht market in China, most of the Chinese enterprises focus on medium and low-end yacht market. On the premise of long-term rapid economic development in China, market size of China yacht industry has presented significant enlarging trend.
In particular, with the rapid development of large private yacht market, Chinese Government paid great attention to stimulating Yacht industry economy. The first China Boat Show at a national level — Boat China & Water Sports Expo 2013 (“Boat China 2013” for short) settles in Guangzhou •Pazhou Complex.
Boat China is an annual event approved by Ministry of Commerce of the PRC; co-sponsored by Trade Development Bureau of Ministry of Commerce of the PRC, China International Council for the Promotion of Multinational Corporations; Organized by Guangdong Yacht Industry Association. Showcase powerboats, sailboats, yachts, related accessories, fishing, diving supplies and equipment, electronics and marine accessories at China Import & Export Fair Pazhou Complex from May 10-12, 2013.
The objective of Boat China is to create a biggest trade meet and a showcase for yachts and related accessories. In addition, the 2013 World Yacht Industry Summit Forum of the International CEO Roundtable of Chinese and Foreign will be held in the same period, and it will attract the world’s politicians, leaders in multinationals and senior executives in the yacht industry and other related fields, which will be a grand feast for worldwide business leaders to seek for win-win cooperation.
Together with Boat China & Water Sports Expo organizer, the committee hopes to encourage exchanges between China and the rest of the world and make the further development of Chinese yacht economy.
