China-based Nansha Marina was awarded the ‘Best China Marina Award 2015’ at the recent 11th Asia Boating Awards. Marina’s Commodore, Mr. Eric Fok, was present at the awards ceremony to receive the prestigious prize on Nansha Marina’s behalf.
Nansha Marina is positioned at the recently launched “Guangdong, Nansha Pilot Free Trade Zone” at Guangzhou, with new policies in the pipelines. An example was the launch of the 1st Guangzhou On-water Bonded Area within Nansha Marina. This will significantly assist yacht importers and brand dealers in their showboats’ entries into the Chinese market.
The Marina has also recently unveiled the “Nansha Nautical Training Centre” that was approved by the Chinese Maritime Safety Authority (MSA) to conduct pleasure Yacht Driving Licenses (Coastal & Inland Waterways 1st Class). This development has helped produce more skippers for the Chinese boating industry to meet its increasing demand.
In developing the boating culture of Guangdong, the marina is also the organizer of the annual “Yacht CN – Nansha Bay International Boat Show”. Since its introduction in 2012, the event has hosted tens of thousands of visitors, developing a better understanding of the boating industry in the PRD region.
