Preparations for this year’s second edition of the China Yachting Conference are in full swing. Set to run on October 17 and 18, the event will host plenty of industry experts as speakers, coming from Europe, UK, Australia, Southeast Asia, HK, as well as China.
Confirmed speakers include Peter Jansen (Honorary Secretary, ICOMIA Marinas Group), Colin Dawson (Chairman, Asia Pacific Superyacht Association), Julian Goldie (International Director, The Yacht Harbour Association, UK), Roger Eastham (Marine Manager, Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club), and Yang Xinfa (Chairman of China Boat Industry & Trade Association), to name a few. More speakers will be revealed in later announcements.
The China Yachting Conference builds on the success of the previous conference held two years ago, when it ran as the China Marina Conference. The change from a marina to a yachting conference is a result of delegate feedback, and reflects the needs of a fast changing China yachting market. While Day One remains marina focused, Day Two concentrates on other industry issues. One idea is a trilogy of connected topics covering insurance, yacht survey and yacht maintenance. Another cluster revolves around yacht licensing, operating regulations, port procedures and other regulatory policies. All these wide ranging topics cover the wider yachting eco-system and is of interest both trade visitors and yacht owners. Underlining to the international nature of the conference, simultaneous translation to and from Chinese will be provided.
The China Yachting Conference is a biennial event that will run 17th – 18th October, 2014. It takes place alongside Nansha Marina’s annual boat show, Yacht CN.
