Claydon Reeves Design have unveiled their new 70m motor yacht CASPIAN. The new 70 meter concept yacht Caspian boasts a sculptured exterior with long lines extending from bow to stern, with design cues from the automotive world. Much of the surfacing of the superyacht Caspian is concave, rather than convex, providing deep wells of highlight, catching the light in a completely different manner to traditional superyachts. The yacht will be able to accommodate up to 12 guests in 2 VIP staterooms and 4 luxurious double cabins.
The Caspian yacht design was revealed at the 2011 Monaco Yacht Show. British design studio Claydon Reeves unveiled their first 80m superyacht concept Remora at the 2010 Monaco Boat Show and plan to unveil a new concept design every year in the future.
The Caspian Yacht design does take some styling influence from the Remora superyacht design however does have a more conventional interior than M/Y Remora which featured a two story atrium, an owner’s area on the bridge deck, and guest suites aft on the main deck.
James Claydon, co-founder of Claydon Reeves Design explains ‘ We decided it would be nice to try and do a much more conventional interior, something more practical. We’re trying to push the exterior forms forward a little bit without putting people off’.
The 70m superyacht CASPIAN was developed from a ‘speed form’ which is a model frequently used in the automotive industry to demonstrate surfacing techniques.
Luxury yacht Caspian boasts a massive aft deck measuring 95 square metres that features a dinning and a lounging area as well as a 7m long infinity pool which cuts through the transom to provide uninterrupted views aft.
On the lower level there is a beach club with a bar and gym, while sundeck features a spa pool and sky bar.
The Caspain yachts’ main saloon adjoins the dining room on the main deck and there is an additional sky lounge on the bridge deck. The yacht will be able to accommodate up to 12 guests in 6 luxurious staterooms including the owner’s suite that enjoys panoramic views, located on the main deck forward.
The Capsian yacht design carries two 8 metre tenders in her aft garage along with a crew tender and jet skis forward. Her slim 11.2m beam and low 3.5m draft make her ideal for adventurous yet economic cruising. She has an estimated range of approximately 4,500 nautical miles at 15 knots.
Aside from the Remora superyacht design and the Caspian superyacht design discussed above. Claydon Reeves also have designed superyacht Radiance and the Cosmos yacht concept.
