This year’s Club Marine Mandurah Boat Show will kick off next month, being hosted by the Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club from October 11 to 13. The event will bring together displays of boats, comprising big boats, small boats, runabouts, ski boats, fishing boats, yachts, jet skis and more, as well as camping, dive and fishing gear and related products. This year’s edition of the Show will be even more interactive and will provide something for everyone.
Show Ambassador
Show Director Peter Woods said he was excited to have Paul Worsteling coming to the Show in what will be his first live appearance ever in WA. “Paul Worsteling is arguably one of the most recognisable faces in recreational fishing in Australia with an unmistakable passion, enthusiasm for the sport and laugh,” Peter said.
“Paul’s passion is family, friends, fishing and fun. We are thrilled to have him at the Show this year and know he will inspire many fisherman and would-be fisherman and women to get out there and have go.”
“He loves a chat, so make sure you come down and say g’day!” Peter said.
Paul stars in the popular TV program IFISH which is the show for anyone who is passionate about fishing. Paul hosts the show with many guests and travels the globe bringing the latest in tips, techniques and products. IFISH is about putting an entertaining spin on a favourite family pastime and hopefully teaching the viewer something in the process.
Get outdoors and go boating!
West Australians love being around water, and Show organisers are enthusiastic about promoting the boating and fishing lifestyle and encouraging people to get involved.
This year, special guest Emma George will join forces with the Club Marine Mandurah Boat Show to help promote boating and fishing as healthy family activities.
Emma is former Olympic athlete and mother of three young boys, and is passionate about children participating in healthy, active and fun activities from a young age.
“It is so important for children to participate in healthy, active and fun activities from a young age,” Emma said.
“We have encouraged our children to develop a love of fishing and the outdoors. Boating, fishing and camping is something we do together as a family and this had enabled us to share many wonderful experiences together.”
“In a technology-driven world, too many children are staying indoors playing virtual games rather than getting outside and exploring the real world. As a mum, I understand life is busy but we need to place more importance on creating healthy habits and sharing quality time with our children. There is no better way to do this than experiencing the amazing marine environment we have here in Australia,” Emma said.
Emma will be at the Show telling her stories and giving info and tips on how to get your family involved in boating and fishing.
To help encourage children’s participation, a range of interactive activities are planned for children at the Show. Kids can have a go at the kid’s casting competition to see if they can hit the target and win a prize. There will be electric boat ridesin a specially designed pool, plus kayak rides from the beach.
Plus for the first time, children can test their skills at driving a boat! 3.3 tinnies with 5hp engines are available to test out, and the children can drive the boat themselves in a supervised environment (designed for older children).
There will also be a wide range of information and presentations. The Department of Transport will present a life-jacket “game” that engages children in an interactive and educational presentation. In addition to Emma George talking about water based activities such as snorkeling, Show ambassador Paul Worsteling will encourage children to take up fishing.
As in previous years, there is no cost for children to enter the Show (children aged up to 16 years when accompanied by an adult), so it is a great opportunity to bring the family to this year’s Club Marine Mandurah Boat Show.
