Club Marine, Australia’s largest provider of pleasure craft insurance, has renewed its support for the Australian International Marine Export Group. A strong supporter of AIMEX initiatives in 2010, Club Marine has broadened its support in the new year, backing the AIMEX Media Mission and becoming the naming rights sponsor for the 2011 Club Marine Australian Marine Industry Export Awards.
The Australian International Marine Export Group (AIMEX) is the peak body for the Australian Marine Export Industry, which generates over 1.2 billion dollars a year for the Australian economy. Its primary purpose is to develop and promote Australia’s thriving Marine Industry to the world.
AIMEX CEO MaryAnne Edwards said “the Australian Marine Export Awards ensure recognition for excellence, innovation, quality and skills which are essential to develop a strong marine export market. Club Marine, by supporting these awards and the inward media mission, appreciates the importance of such events in acknowledging and supporting the leaders and emerging exporters in the industry.”
Club Marine CEO Greg Fisher agreed with Ms Edwards, and stressed his company’s belief in the fundamental importance of supporting the Australian Marine Industry. “Club Marine has a long history of active support of Australia’s marine industry,” Fisher said. “By supporting AIMEX, we hope to promote those in Australia’s marine industry who have the courage to innovate and cheer those who further Australia’s reputation for excellence.”
Reflecting on his company’s ‘2010 Exporter of the Year’ award, Brent Vaughan, Sales and Marketing Manager of Seawind Catamarans underscored the real value of winning the AIMEX award, along with the support of companies like Club Marine is invaluable in this tough international financial climate. “The extra attention winning awards brings from both customers and peers in the industry has helped us to sail through the doldrums of this year’s slow export markets due to the high AUD,” he said.
