Crystal clear waters, fresh trade winds, white sand beaches and beaming sunshine are guarantees at the ClubSwan Caribbean Rendezvous
Nautor’s Swan, builder of luxury sailing yachts, is not only known for the design and manufacture of its products but for its established community of Swan owners and the organisation, through ClubSwan, of an extensive range of the most prestigious sailing events across the globe.
ClubSwan provides an opportunity for Swan owners from all over the world to be united by their love of sailing and to share their enjoyment of and pride in their yacht. The main aim of ClubSwan is to offer every member the chance to enjoy their Swan yacht to the full and also to share their experiences with other owners at a number of prestigious Nautor’s Swan events, regattas and cruising rendevouses staged in some of the most exclusive destinations around the globe.
Cruising events are a focal point in the Nautor’s Swan calendar due to the high popularity of these events with Swan owners. Nautor’s Swan yachts have been treasured for more than 40 years by the yachting fraternity for their unrivalled build quality, combined with the ultimate luxury making them the ultimate all round yacht.
Now is the time of year when sailors from the U.S. and Europe plan their trips to the Caribbean to participate in one or more of the popular island regattas traditionally held there every Spring. One such event is the ClubSwan Caribbean Rendezvous, 14th – 19th March 2011, which has an offering that goes beyond just beach parties and jump-up bands. This Rendezvous guarantees exceptional racing by virtue of its dependable trade winds and, even more important, a professional race management team. The week-long event indulges the competitive while offering families a wealth of options for vacation fun in the idyllic setting of the British Virgin Islands.
Since the first ClubSwan Caribbean Rendezvous in 2002, the Rendezvous in the British Virgin Islands has become one of the most influential events in Nautor’s Swan’s sailing calendar, now well known for its distinctive camaraderie between owners and excellent sailing. The Rendezvous fleet will sail around the spectacular British Virgin Islands taking in the outstanding scenery and natural ambience the area is famous for. Among the highlights of the Rendezvous are the spectacular courses that thread through Jost Van Dyke, Virgin Gorda and Peter Island. The British Virgin Islands is one of the classic Caribbean yacht charter vacation areas and a great place for sailing vacations, known by many as the ‘yachting capital of the Caribbean.’ The British Virgin Islands is actually around 50 volcanic islands, islets and cays that provide extensive sailing areas and is the perfect setting for this unique gathering of some of the world’s finest sailing yachts.
In its 9th edition, participants may be certain that the organisers know a thing or two about what the ‘whole package’ should be. Guests will have time to experience the islands, take in the local hospitality and cuisine and find snorkelling and diving hotspots while enjoying a relaxed approach to Swan racing. The programme has been designed to fit with the Caribbean racing calendar, following the RORC Caribbean 600, held during late February in Antigua, and the Heineken Regatta at St. Maarten in the beginning of March and the organisers hope it will provide a welcome week of relaxed cruising following the two regattas and before Antigua Sailing Week at the end of April. Participants will also be able to enjoy a Laser Dinghy Regatta, Boules Tournament, ClubSwan Boat Show, Hors D’oeurve Contest, Scuba Diving and daily evening drinks receptions in a different picturesque anchorage every night during the ClubSwan Caribbean Rendezvous.
Sailing yachts that have already shown interest in attending the ClubSwan Caribbean Rendezvous range in size from Swan 46, Masquerade, owned by Roger Motson to Swan 66FD’s Lionessa of Douglas and Toucan II.
Due to the high popularity of this event it is highly recommended that interested parties register as soon as possible.
