The 53.9 metre Columbus 177 motor yacht has now been named Prima. The motor yacht Prima will be launched today at the Palumbo superyacht yard in Italy and will be ready for delivery later this year. Superyacht Prima, is an ABS/RINA classed and MCA compliant superyacht giving her the potential to become an excellent charter yacht. She was built to a design by Hydro Tec and Tommaso Spadolini.
The Columbus 177 luxury yacht PRIMA measures 53.9 meters (176’10”) and her maximum Beam is 10.2 meters making her a very volumous and spacious yacht. The hull is made of steel and superstructures of light alloy to reduce the weight and to get a low ZG granting high stability standards. The hull is round displacement type with bulge and a transom stern. Her superstructure is white contrasting with her grey hull colour.
Yacht Prima has an interior designed by Spadolini Design Studio. She is able to accommodate up to 12 guests in six staterooms including a full beam owner’s suite with a private balcony, and a VIP cabin on the bridge deck. Guests, owner and common guests areas cover about 350 m2 and are furnished with the highest quality Italian marbles (Marmo Calacatta Oro), woods (Rovere and Noce Canaletto) and Italian leather and drapery.
The tri-deck yacht Prima also boasts spacious exterior deck areas ideal for relaxing or entertaining, with her two tenders stored in a garage.
Propulsion power is provided by two diesel Engines type MTU 16V 4000 M60 developing 1760kW at 1800 rpm, each one coupled to the shaft line through a ZF reduction gear. The propulsion is delivered by two fixed pitch propellers with five blades which thrust assures 18.5 knots as maximum continuous speed. She offers a range of 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.
The Yacht will be equipped with a twin spade high lift rudder plant, and low speed steering will be assisted by a bow thruster. The comfort during navigation is granted by four stabilizers fins to provide active roll reduction both in underway and “at anchor” condition. The electric power required for ship service will be provided by two Caterpillar C9 diesel generator (2×175 kW) and a Caterpillar C4.4 diesel generator (80 kW).
