Otam Yachts has unveiled the new Otam 85 GTS, an evolution on the Otam 58 HT which produced motor yacht CRAZY TOO, tender to the 50m/164ft superyacht CRAZY ME from Heesen and the Otam 80 HT hulls MILLENNIUM, MR. BROWN and MYSTERE, which can reach a top speed of 50 knots.
The latest edition from the Italian shipyard boasts interior and exterior styling from French architect Joseph Dirand and was sold in May this year with a delivery date of June 2019.
Matteo Belardinelli, Sales & Communications Manager for Otam, explained how the inspiration for the Otam 85 GTS came about: “The genesis of the 85 GTS began during the Cannes Yachting Festival last year. We were presenting the OTAM 80, which attracted a lot of attention for its performance and the fact that it has a second full-beam master suite amidships. Several clients came to me and expressed interest in a slightly larger version of the yacht, which provided the starting point for our R&D.”
The gullwing doors take inspiration from supercar styling and an originally aggressive design was toned down for a more svelte and curving appearance. The foredeck and aft cockpit both provide guests with ample sun lounging potential and an open transom connects with the sea. The most striking feature however is her two massive en-suite cabins located forward and amidships, essentially providing guests with two Master suites in addition to a salon/dining space opposite the galley. Two crew berths accessed independently from the guest entrance for greater privacy.
The Otam 85 is also powered for performance and contains twin MTU 2,600 HP engines and Arneson Drives for a cruising speed of 38 knots and a top speed of 45 knots.
Currently, the GRP hull and deck have been laminated and interior fitting is due to start shortly in preparation for her June 2019 delivery date.
