Originally launched by Oyster Marine in 2006, the Oyster 72 sailing yacht COOKIELICIOUS came to Lyman-Morse in May 2013 to undergo an extensive maintenance as well as a cosmetic refit. Luxury yacht COOKIELICIOUS sailed away on July 1, for a summer of fun, cruising the waters of Newport, the Vineyard, Nantucket & Block Island.

Lyman Morse repainted boot stripes, cove stripe, cap rail and spin pole (all in “Range Rover Vesuvius Orange!”), pulled and serviced the entire rig, refurbished all seacocks, completely rebuilt and repainted all deckhouse windows and refurbished most onboard systems.
Works on Cookielicious Yacht
COOKIELICIOUS yacht returned to Lyman Morse the end of September for some additional work before heading south for the winter. Team Lyman-Morse painted the boom and the mast. Interior work included rebuilding the heads amidships and forward, re-varnish the cockpit table. Interior carpentry and finish projects include refinishing handrails, repairing nav station wood trim, salon stairs, and some minor repairs to the bed in the master suite. Some of the teak deck planks were reefed out, routed and new caulk installed. After Lyman-Morse did a full systems check, they found that she needed new batteries and davit lines. Oyster Marine sent Lyman-Morse a new upper rudder bearing and the bimini was reconfigured to accommodate the strata-glass sail viewing window. These projects will bring comfort to all!

Layout and Design
The Oyster 72 yacht was conceived from the outset to blend the live-aboard and seamanlike qualities of a typical Oyster within a design where high performance was of equal or greater priority. Modern composite engineering produced a hull and deck that are both light and stiff, without compromising the strength, durability and ease of handling for which Oysters are known.
