Amels has begun construction on the first hull of its latest model in the Limited Editions series, the LIMITED EDITIONS 206. At 62.4m/204ft, the latest superyacht is a mid-sized model for the range with exterior styling from Tim Heywood and is based on the LIMITED EDITIONS 199 model which produced luxury yachts EVENT and MADAME KATE. From the previous model, the circular portholes and gullwing doors have been retained to pass on the iconic design.
The additional 2.4m/7.8ft has been used to increase the swim platform, which now has a total area of 29m2/312ft2, and the beach club now covers 35m2/376.7ft2. The sundeck has also benefitted from a change between the old 199 model and the new 206 version, becoming 23m/75.4ft long to incorporate a hexagonal forward spa pool and a stern covered in sunpads.
Laura Sessa has created the interiors to accommodation a maximum of 12 guests across 6 spacious en-suite cabins, of which there are two VIP staterooms on the bridge deck, plus a main deck Owner’s suite with fold-down terraces to port and starboard. The crew accommodation sleeps 16 with an additional cabin for one staff member.
The engines are capable of a top speed of 16.5 knots and a cruising speed of 13 knots, with a range of 5,000 nautical miles.
The first LIMITED EDITIONS 206 superyacht is due for delivery in spring 2020, with the first LIMITED EDITIONS 188 motor yacht, also currently under construction at the Amels shipyard, due for launch in 2020.
